Two weeks into the fall 2026 season, the shows people are actually talking about are not quite the ones the preview guides bet on. AniList's live trending chart on October 13 is led by a witch rom-com and a goblin isekai, with Overgeared and Black Clover Season 2 close behind — and the heavyweight sequels, The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 and Blue Box Season 2, sit lower on buzz but miles ahead on total audience.

Trending vs. popular: why the two lists differ
"Trending" measures momentum — how many people added, rated or talked about a show in the last few days. "Popular" measures the size of the audience. A new rom-com with a viral first episode can out-trend a sequel with five times the viewers. Both matter: trending tells you what your feed will be arguing about this week, popularity tells you which shows will still be in conversation in December. We list them in trending order and give the audience size next to each one.
