Sgt. Frog is back on TV, and you can already stream it in English. Crunchyroll added KERORO☆ (*Keroro Gunsō☆*), the franchise's all-new television anime, with English subtitles on Friday, October 2 (US time), right as the first episode aired in Japan on October 3 at 9:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo. It's streaming worldwide except Asia, per Anime News Network.
Quick answer
KERORO☆ is a new Sgt. Frog TV anime that premiered on October 3, 2026 on TV Tokyo. It streams on Crunchyroll with English subtitles worldwide except Asia, and is produced at BN Pictures with production cooperation from Bridge and AISLE. It's a reboot-style series with an all-new voice cast, not a continuation of the 2004–2011 Sunrise run. SenpaiRanks tracks the original 2004 Keroro Gunsō at 7.38; the new series' board opens with this season, so rate it as you watch.
Who's making it
Nobuhiro Kondō (*Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens*, Cardfight!! Vanguard GZ) is chief director, and Akihiko Sano (*Farmagia*) directs. Toshimitsu Takeuchi oversees scripts, Hatsue Nakayama designs the characters, and Kan Sawada, who scored this summer's anniversary film, composes the music. That's a kids'-TV veteran crew, which tracks for a 9:30 a.m. weekend slot.
The new cast
Makoto Koichi voices Sergeant Keroro, with Toshiki Masuda as Giroro, Rika Nagae as Tamama, Kōsuke Echigoya as Kululu and Satoshi Inomata as Dororo. Yuki Sakakihara and Minori Fujidera play Fuyuki and Natsumi Hinata, and Sumire Morohoshi plays Momoka. Long-time fans should note the split: June's 20th-anniversary film kept the returning cast, while this TV series recasts everyone.

Where it fits in the franchise
Sunrise's original adaptation of Mine Yoshizaki's manga ran 358 episodes from 2004 to 2011 and spawned five films; Crunchyroll has carried that series since 2021, and Discotek has it on SD Blu-ray. The June 26 film, New Sgt. Frog the Movie, opened at No. 4 in Japan with about ¥150.8 million in its first three days, which is the signal that led into this TV revival. Our earlier cast and staff report has the announcement history, and the fall slate is ranked in our best fall 2026 anime board.
Worth a slot?
If you grew up on the 2004 series, try one episode for the new voices and keep the old show queued. If you've never seen Sgt. Frog, a fresh start with no 358-episode backlog is the easiest way in. Rate it on the KERORO☆ ranking page so the board fills in.
