The Overgeared anime is a Crunchyroll show, and it's getting the dub on day one. Crunchyroll announced on September 26 that it will stream a same-day English dub of Tempal: Item no Chikara — the TV adaptation of REDICE STUDIO's Overgeared webtoon — starting September 27, per Anime News Network.
Quick answer
Overgeared (*Tempal: Item no Chikara*) streams on Crunchyroll in Japanese with English subtitles and with a same-day English dub from September 27, 2026. The Japanese TV broadcast starts October 2 on Tokyo MX and BS11 at 11:30 p.m. JST. J.C. Staff animates, Ayako Kōno (*Sword Art Online Progressive* films) directs, and Kenta Ihara (*Saga of Tanya the Evil*) writes series scripts. It adapts the Korean webtoon by Dong Wook Lee and Team Argo, itself based on Sae Nal Park's web novel.
The pitch
Youngwoo Shin is broke, written off by his family, and only good at one thing: logging into the VR MMO Satisfy. Even there his warrior Grid is mediocre — until he finds a tome holding a legendary blacksmith's lost knowledge. The catch is that using it resets his level to zero. What follows is less "chosen one" and more "guy who crafts god-tier gear and stumbles into power," which is exactly why the webtoon built a big English readership through Tapas and WuxiaWorld.
The English dub cast
- Ricco Fajardo as Grid
- Alexis Tipton as Irene
- Morgan Lauré as Yura
- Bradley Gareth as Doran
- Daniel Van Thomas as Ashur
- Reshel Mae as Seira
The dub is produced at Crunchyroll Studio, with Emily Fajardo voice directing and Tyler Walker supervising the adaptation.
Production side
EGG FIRM produces, Yoshiaki Fujisawa composes the score, and rock band Re:name performs the opening, "SATISFY," with virtual singer TAO on the ending, "Ray of Emotion." Crunchyroll already previewed the show in U.S. and Canadian theaters through its Crunchyroll Anime Nights program on September 21.
Worth a slot?
Korean webtoon adaptations have been on a run since Solo Leveling, and Overgeared is one of the bigger names still unadapted until now. A same-day dub signals Crunchyroll sees it as a mainstream pick, not a niche simulcast. Whether J.C. Staff can sell the crafting-progression hook on screen is the open question — SenpaiRanks will track it on the fall board once votes come in — the Overgeared ranking page is open for ratings now.
