Terms of Service

By accessing or using SenpaiRanks (the "service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and the operators of SenpaiRanks.

To use the service you must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by law in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet the eligibility requirements.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that we have a good-faith reason to believe are compromised, or that engage in abusive behavior.

When using the service you agree not to:

• Use automated means to scrape, copy or collect data from the service at a scale that materially burdens the infrastructure.
• Manipulate rankings, reviews or any other community feature, including coordinated voting and the use of multiple accounts to skew aggregate signals.
• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or that infringes intellectual-property rights.
• Impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization, or use the service to phish or otherwise deceive other users.
• Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the service or attempt to circumvent any security feature.

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict features, or terminate access in response to violations.

You retain ownership of the ratings, reviews and other content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, adapt and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your content does not violate any third-party rights.

SenpaiRanks aggregates and links to information about anime, manga, films and other works that we do not own or operate. References to a third party's product, name, image or trademark are descriptive only and do not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. Where we surface short summaries derived from public reporting, source publications retain ownership of the original material; sources are credited on each post.

The service, including its design, codebase, scoring methodology, and aggregated rankings, is owned by the operators of SenpaiRanks or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the service except as permitted by law or as expressly authorized in writing.

We strive to keep the service available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or secure operation. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire service at any time, with or without notice. We will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice of material changes that affect existing accounts.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the rankings, recommendations or any other information surfaced on the service are accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. You use the service at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability for any direct damages will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the operators of SenpaiRanks from any claim, demand, damages, liability or expense arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.

You may terminate your account at any time through the account settings or by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or for any other reason consistent with applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitation of liability) will survive.

These terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the service are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction apply. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the operator's seat for any matter not subject to mandatory local jurisdiction.

We may revise these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the site and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
