Dr. Stone isn't done after all. At the Stone Fes. 2026 event in Yokohama on October 10, the franchise announced Dr. Stone: Terraforming, a new anime that adapts the post-finale epilogue from the manga's 27th volume. It picks up after Science Future, which wrapped its third and final part on June 25.
Quick answer
Dr. Stone: Terraforming is a new TMS Entertainment anime announced on October 10, 2026. It adapts the Terraforming story from volume 27 of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's manga, set after the main story ends. No release date, format or episode count has been announced yet. Past seasons stream on Crunchyroll. According to SenpaiRanks, Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3 is the best-rated entry in the franchise at 8.08, ahead of the 2019 first season at 7.97.
The announcement video
There isn't much footage yet. The reveal came with a new logo on the official site and celebration art from series character designer Yuko Iwasa, which usually means a full trailer is still a few months away.
What Terraforming actually covers
The manga ended in March 2022, but Terraforming was an extra chapter set after the finale. It takes Senku's crew past rebuilding civilization on Earth and into the next stage: actually making another world livable. That makes it the natural epilogue to the moon-mission climax Science Future just finished. MyAnimeList commenters also point to the 4D Science bonus chapters as the likely next project after this one, but nothing beyond Terraforming has been announced.
