Hulu is now a third U.S. home for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. Per Anime News Network, Hulu announced on October 10 that it would stream the series from October 11 — the same day the first episode aired in Japan and hit Crunchyroll.

Where it streams now

  • Crunchyroll — Japanese audio with English subtitles from October 11, simulcast across the U.S., Canada, Latin America (including Brazil), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Europe.
  • Hulu — U.S., from October 11.
  • Netflix — U.S. from October 17; Netflix lists an October 14 start in some other countries.
  • Japan — Fuji TV on Sundays at 11:15 p.m. JST, with Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT 30 minutes after broadcast.

That is the broadest launch any Dragon Ball TV project has had outside Japan. Earlier plans are in our Dragon Ball Super: Beerus release date guide and the Netflix announcement.

What Beerus actually is

It is not new story. Toei calls it an "enhanced" edition of Dragon Ball Super: a rebuilt story with new and redrawn cuts, revised scenes, all footage re-rendered, and new dubbing with added score and sound effects. Producer Akio Iyoku said the work started a few years ago. Kōichi Yamadera returns as Beerus, Tadayoshi Yamamuro handles character design and is general animation director, and Norihito Sumitomo composes the music. MEGATERA・ZERO sings the opening, "ONOGAMI", and VK Blanka the ending, "Kan Peki No Peki".

It also takes over One Piece's Sunday slot on Fuji TV while that series is on break until 2027. Original Dragon Ball Super holds 7.45 on the SenpaiRanks Consensus board; the remaster's own board opens as votes come in.

Worth a slot?

If you never watched Super, this is the version to start with. If you have, you're watching for the redrawn early arcs, where the original's off-model episodes were the weak spot. Our Dragon Ball watch order shows where it fits. Other remakes and comebacks this year: Cosmoship Yamato √2199, Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, and for another long-running franchise to catch up on, the Yu-Gi-Oh! watch order. If you're here for the fights, try the best boxing anime ranking.

Need another big franchise mapped out? Our Fate watch order untangles that one.
