Quick answer
Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition (*Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia*) is a 12-episode TV anime premiering Monday, January 4, 2027 at 11:00 p.m. JST on NHK General (9:00 a.m. ET the same day). It adapts hiroja's spinoff manga of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English. AniList lists Tatsunoko Production as the studio. No overseas streamer has been announced yet. The four seasons of the main series stream on Crunchyroll, and SenpaiRanks ranks Season 2 highest at 7.84.

The pitch
Same faces, different universe. In this version, Iruma is a broke, relentlessly cheerful kid growing up in a slum. He gives his last loaf of bread to an injured old man, who turns out to be Don Sullivan, boss of the Babyl Mafia. Sullivan adopts him as his grandson, and Iruma becomes heir to a gang of demonic mafiosos. It's the main series' running joke (a nice boy who can't say no to the scariest people around him) with suits and guns instead of a school.
The manga started in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion in September 2023, moved to Weekly Shōnen Champion in December 2025, and reached its ninth volume on October 7.
The cast is coming back
Six main-series voices return, per Anime News Network:
- Ayumu Murase as Iruma
- Mitsuki Saiga as Opera
- Daisuke Ono as Naberius Callego
- Ryōhei Kimura as Asmodeus Alice
- Ayaka Asai as Valac Clara
- Saori Hayami as Amelie
Bringing back the whole cast is the strongest sign that NHK sees this as part of the franchise and not a cheap side project. It also means fans of the main show are getting the same voices.
Worth a slot this winter?
If you've watched the main show, yes. It's 12 episodes, so it fits easily into a busy winter 2027 lineup, next to One Punch Man Season 3 Part 2 and NHK's own Hirayasumi. If you're new, start with the main series: Season 1 (7.59), Season 2 (7.84), Season 3 (7.65) and Season 4 (7.29). Our Iruma-kun movie guide covers the film announcement. IruMafia's own SenpaiRanks board opens when episode 1 airs, so rate it then.
