A haunted apartment, a grumpy high schooler and a ghost dog: Esu Omori's Shiba Inu Rooms (*Shibatsuki Bukken*) is getting a TV anime in summer 2027, per Anime News Network and MyAnimeList. TMS Entertainment is producing it.
The setup
High schooler Kori Momose moves into a new apartment and finds it already has a tenant: Mu, the ghost of a Shiba Inu. The two are opposites from the start, and the series is about whether they can learn to live together and maybe become friends. It is a low-stakes, gag-driven comedy rather than a horror story.
Who's making it
- Studio: TMS Entertainment
- Director: Osamu Yamasaki
- Character design: Rio
- Cast: Niina Nakabayashi as Kori Momose, Mutsumi Tamura as Mu
Casting Tamura as the dog is the detail to watch, since the whole show depends on Mu being funny.
