The Date A Live team's follow-up is getting an anime. King's Proposal (*Ōsama no Propose*), the light novel by Koushi Tachibana with illustrations by Tsunako, will air as a TV anime in 2027, with Rie Takahashi voicing lead heroine Saika Kuozaki. The October 25 announcement came with a teaser visual and Aniplex attached to produce.
Quick answer
King's Proposal (*Ōsama no Propose*) is a TV anime premiering in 2027 (no exact date yet), produced with Aniplex. Rie Takahashi plays Saika Kuozaki, an all-powerful witch. It adapts the light novel by Koushi Tachibana and Tsunako, the creator-and-illustrator pair behind Date A Live, published by Kadokawa in Japan and Yen Press in English. Square Enix ran a six-volume manga adaptation, completed as of March 2025.

The setup
Yen Press sells it as "a new light novel series from the creative team behind the legendary Date A Live." The hook is Saika, a witch with overwhelming power, and the series leans on the same mix of action and romance that made Tachibana's earlier work a long-runner. Takahashi is a strong lead pick; she has carried heroine roles across several big franchises.
Why the timing is interesting
The announcement lands the same weekend Date A Live confirmed its finale, the F Last Date film opening March 26, 2027. Our Date A Live watch order and where-to-watch guide covers the whole run. If King's Proposal lands in the second half of 2027, Tachibana gets two anime releases in one year.
There's no score yet; the King's Proposal ranking page opens for votes when the show airs. Until then, our best light novel anime ranking shows how witch-and-magic adaptations usually perform, and The World's Strongest Witch is this season's closest match.
