Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent (*Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun*) has its leads. The anime's official site released a second teaser on September 30 that names the main cast and confirms an April 2027 premiere on ABC TV and TV Asahi's ANiMAZiNG!!! block, with ABEMA streaming and, per MyAnimeList's report, a BS11 broadcast as well.
Quick answer
Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent is a TV anime adaptation of Naruki's romantic comedy manga, premiering April 2027 on ABC TV / TV Asahi (ANiMAZiNG!!!) and streaming on ABEMA in Japan. Makoto Hoshino directs at Studio Flad and WAO World, with scripts by Megumi Shimizu and character designs by Ruriko Watanabe. No international streamer has been announced yet.
The cast
- Hiroto Shimizu as Dan Ichikura, the quiet boy with glasses who used to be a notorious delinquent
- Suzuko Hara as Hiro Momose, who just wants a peaceful high school life
- Yuma Tomochika as Ohana-chan

The setup
Momose wants nothing to do with troublemakers. Then she meets Ichikura, who looks like the nicest boy in class until she finds out about his junior-high reputation. He insists he's reformed, but he's still quick to start fights. Naruki has serialized the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend since January 2021. The 11th volume came out in Japan on May 13, and Seven Seas publishes it in English. Volume 7 came out July 14, and volume 8 is due October 20.
Production notes
The core trio of Hoshino, Shimizu and Watanabe all worked on Banished from the Hero's Party and The Little Lies We All Tell. That's a team used to character-driven romantic comedy, not a big-budget showcase. The first teaser and staff list came out in August; this second teaser adds the voices.
Where it fits
Bessatsu Friend is a shōjo magazine, so this one belongs on the same shelf as the classics in our new best shōjo anime ranking. If you want a romantic comedy before April, the best romance anime board has plenty already streaming.
