TOHO animation is spending this week introducing the supporting cast of The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure, one character video a day. Monday's video covered the Bi clan; Tuesday's covered the Kajadan river pirates, per Anime News Network.
The pirates
The Kajadan video names three of the crew's leaders (romanizations not official yet):
- Kenshō Ono as Suija, the current head of the Kajadan, hunting for the treasure his late father hid.
- Ryōta Takeuchi as Eishō, Suija's loyal right hand.
- Jirō Saitō as Kaja, the former leader, who died a year ago and left the treasure behind.
The site also posted a visual for Seisei, Suija's older sister and Kaja's daughter. She appears in the video, but her voice actor hasn't been announced.

The Bi clan
Monday's video cast Nobuo Tobita as clan head Birō, Kumiko Watanabe as his wife Shūu, and Hirofumi Nojima as eldest son Bisen. It also features Mariya Ise, cast earlier as the Bi clan son Mu Qing, who looks like the key character.
Where this is going
The film is an original story by novelist Hyuganatsu: Maomao and Jinshi take a concubine who died five years ago home to be buried and find pirates, hidden treasure and a secret about the Empress's remains. It opens in Japanese theaters on December 11. Crunchyroll holds worldwide rights outside Asia (India included), and the Western release date is still to be announced. One more video, for Ruo Qing and Yi Shan, is due October 14.
Meanwhile Season 3 is airing now on Crunchyroll, and the first season holds 7.67 on the SenpaiRanks Consensus board.
