Rozemyne's story isn't done on screen. On October 3, the same day Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke aired its 24th and final episode, the production announced a TV anime for Part 4: Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee, with Wit Studio animating again. If you finished Part 3 this weekend wondering whether that was it, it wasn't.

Quick answer

According to SenpaiRanks, Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 is confirmed as a TV anime from Wit Studio, announced October 3, 2026, adapting the Royal Academy arc of Miya Kazuki's light novels. No premiere date, episode count or Part 4 staff has been announced yet. Every earlier season, including the 24-episode Part 3 that ran April 4 – October 3, 2026 on Yomiuri TV and NTV, streams on Crunchyroll with subtitles and an English dub. SenpaiRanks tracks the franchise's earlier seasons at 7.83 (season 1), 7.92 (season 2) and 7.89 (season 3), with Part 3 at 7.12 and still settling as votes come in.

What Part 4 actually covers

Part 4 is the point where the story leaves the duchy. Rozemyne, now officially the archduke's adopted daughter, is sent to the Royal Academy, the boarding school where every noble child in the country learns magic. Her plan for the place is about what you'd expect: find the library, take it over. It's the arc where the cast gets much bigger and the politics move from one territory to the whole kingdom, so it's a natural place for the anime to keep going.

There's a lot of source left. Kazuki's main series ended at 33 volumes in December 2023, with Part 5 still after this one, and per ANN the novels have passed 13 million copies in print.

The studio question

Wit Studio coming back matters. Ajia-do made the first three seasons (2019, 2020 and 2022), and Part 3 moved to Wit with a new director, Yoshiaki Iwasaki, and a new character designer, Aiko Minowa. Mariko Kunisawa stayed on scripts and MICHIRU on music. Wit hasn't named Part 4's staff, but keeping the studio means the look and pacing of Part 3 should carry over. Our Wit Studio ranking puts that move in context.

Where to watch before Part 4

All of it is on Crunchyroll. Watch the 2019 season, then season 2 (2020), then season 3 (2022), then Part 3 (2026).
