Amazon is expanding The Terminal List again. Per Deadline and Variety, Prime Video is adapting Savage Son, with Chris Pratt returning as Lt. Cmdr. James Reece, the Navy SEAL at the center of the franchise.
Quick answer
Savage Son is a new Prime Video series based on Jack Carr's third James Reece novel. Chris Pratt reprises James Reece. It is not yet dated, and it is unclear whether it will be a standalone season or a continuation of the main show. The existing seasons and the prequel The Terminal List: Dark Wolf stream on Prime Video.
The setup
The franchise started with the 2022 adaptation of Carr's debut novel, a revenge thriller about a SEAL who comes home to find his unit wiped out and his family targeted. Prime Video then spun off a prequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which followed a different part of the timeline. Savage Son moves back to the main storyline and to Pratt's Reece, adapting the third book in Carr's series.
What is still open
Deadline notes it is unclear whether Savage Son will be a self-contained season, much as the prequel was, or fold into the existing show. Neither outlet has given a premiere window, episode count or supporting cast. Treat any date you see floating around as rumor until Amazon confirms.
Is it worth tracking?
If you liked the original, yes. Amazon is treating Reece as a long-running property and keeping its lead actor, which is the part viewers cared about most. The open question is pacing: Carr's third book is a different kind of mission than the first, so the adaptation choices matter more than the headline suggests.
