Quick answer
The live-action Mashle: Magic and Muscles film opens in Japanese theaters on March 19, 2027, starring Mackenyu Maeda as Mash Burnedead under director Yūichi Fukuda. No international release or streaming date is announced yet. The anime is on Crunchyroll, with the third season (the Divine Visionary Final Exam arc) due in January 2027. According to SenpaiRanks, the anime is the place to start before the film lands.
The casting read
Maeda is a sensible pick for a hero whose whole joke is that he is absurdly strong in a world where everyone else solves problems with spells. Fukuda is the more telling name. He directed the live-action Gintama films and has a long record of turning gag-heavy manga into box-office comedies, which is exactly the tone Mashle needs. Expect the film to lean on physical comedy rather than a faithful arc-by-arc adaptation.
How to catch up before March
The manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023 and finished at 18 volumes. The anime adapted it across two 12-episode seasons (April 2023 and January 2024), both streamed with an English dub on Crunchyroll. Season 3 is next, and here is the teaser:
Our full breakdown of that season sits in Mashle Season 3: release date, where to watch and ranking. For more upcoming premieres see what to watch in winter 2027 and what to watch in spring 2027.
What to watch for
An international release plan. Warner Bros. is attached, so a global rollout is plausible, but nothing is confirmed. Cast beyond the lead is the next wave to expect.
