If you bookmark one spring opener this week, make it Komekami! Girls. Daily Plan.net returns April 3, 2026 with an open-ended run, and the early read is everything except ordinary.
The hook
This is the story of the seven-sister unit "Komekami! Girls," children of the rice deity, born from the tradition: "In a single grain of rice, seven gods reside."
When their mother(the deity of rice, or the rice-god queen) was called back in haste to the celestial realm and no longer able to return to the earthly realm they search for her traces using Usa City (Oita Prefecture) as their base, and teleport to Hachiman shrines throughout Kyushu island. As they solve local problems, they learn about food, take part in cooking battles, and grow. What sells it isn't the premise. It's that the team understands the source's tone — restrained where most adaptations would underline, loud where the source itself goes loud.
Studio side
Daily Plan.net runs production. They're the kind of studio where the storyboarding lead is the byline that should reassure you, not the director-on-marketing-rounds.
Broadcast
Fridays at 01:50 (JST). Ongoing run, episode count TBC. Same-day simulcast windows are on the usual Western streamers — check your local Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, or Hulu listing for the timed slot.
Verdict
MAL aggregate's thin; the source-side chatter isn't. Translation: a sleeper with real pickup potential past week two. Worth the time. The season has louder names; this is the one you'll be quoting in August.
