Drama Queen has four chapters left. Creator Kuraku Ichikawa said on X on Monday that the series is entering its final stretch, per Anime News Network.
The setup
Drama Queen started on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ in December 2024, and Shueisha publishes it in English on MANGA Plus. Volume 7 came out in Japan on September 4. The premise: aliens have settled on Earth and become part of normal life. Nomamoto is a factory worker whose boss is an abusive alien. Kitami's family was killed by aliens. The two end up as unlikely partners in something that looks more like a plan for revenge than a romance.
Why readers noticed
Jump+ has become the place where Shueisha tries out sharp, short genre series, and Drama Queen was one of its more divisive picks: dark, angry, and not interested in being likable. Ending now keeps it a tight read instead of a stretched-out one. There's no anime announcement. If you want the closest thing on screen right now, the closest matches are in our best sci-fi anime and best psychological anime rankings. Ichikawa's grim tone also fits with this fall's best horror anime.
