Code Geass is back in the conversation. A new crossover manga — Shin Kidō Senki Gundam W x Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch — Minuet Zero — launched on Kadokawa's KadoComi platform on July 11, 2026, pairing Lelouch's rebellion with Gundam Wing. If it sent you looking for the original, here is where to watch it and why it still ranks so high.
Quick answer
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is the 2006 Sunrise mecha series now back in view thanks to a new Gundam Wing crossover manga (*Minuet Zero*, art by Tomofumi Ogasawara, scenario by Sunrise's Kōjirō Taniguchi) that launched July 11, 2026 on KadoComi. The original two-season TV run (2006–2008) streams on Crunchyroll and other services. According to SenpaiRanks, Code Geass holds an adjusted 8.68 — one of the highest marks on our board.
Where to watch the original
The 2006 series and its 2008 sequel, R2, stream on Crunchyroll, with regional availability elsewhere — we tell you every platform carrying it, not just one. Twenty-five episodes per season, and the momentum barely lets up. This is the show to start with before touching the films or the Rozé of the Recapture side story.

Why it still ranks
Per SenpaiRanks, Code Geass sits at 8.68 on the ranking board — elite tier, and it earns it. The dual-axis read explains why: Consensus is sky-high because the chess-match plotting and Lelouch's arc are broadly beloved, and Quality holds because the writing's escalation still lands nearly two decades on. MAL flattens that into one number; our split shows you both halves of the "is Code Geass good" question at a glance.
