Adam Driver says his time as Kylo Ren is done. Per Variety, asked on The Rich Eisen Show whether he would ever play the Star Wars villain again, Driver answered that it is over and that there is no more Star Wars for him. That shuts the door on talk of a project built around Ben Solo, the character Kylo Ren was before the dark side and after it.
Quick answer
**Adam Driver has ruled out returning to Star Wars.** He played Kylo Ren / Ben Solo in the sequel trilogy (*The Force Awakens*, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker), and told The Rich Eisen Show that "the ship has sailed" on a Hunt for Ben Solo style return. Per Variety, that is his clearest statement yet. No Lucasfilm project involving the character has been confirmed.
What he actually said
The question was blunt and so was the answer: it's over, no more Star Wars. We only have Variety's summary of the interview, so treat the exact phrasing as theirs. The headline detail is that he was not hedging with a "never say never" line, which is how actors usually leave the door ajar.
Why fans keep asking
The sequel trilogy ended with Ben Solo's redemption and death, which is part of why a return feels contrived. Even so, fan chatter about a standalone film has never gone away, and The Hunt for Ben Solo became shorthand for it. Lucasfilm has not announced such a film, and Driver's comments make a recast the only realistic route.
What to watch next
Lucasfilm's active slate carries on without him. The thing to track is whether a studio announcement ever addresses Ben Solo directly. Until then, treat the character as closed. For more film coverage, browse our best anime films of the 2020s.
