The hook
Yani is a catgirl with a seriously bad smoking habit. She smokes so much that her apartment smells like ash and is littered with cigarette butts—and plenty of other trash! Every time she tries to quit, she becomes weak to the cravings and gives in almost instantly. Will she ever get her life together, or is she doomed to live as a chainsmoking slob forever?

How to read it
If you're someone who slots comedy register shows on principle, Yani Neko is an automatic add to the first-three-episode try-list. If the manga resonates with you, that doubles the case.
What to watch for in week one: animation density of episode one (premieres usually peak there — does episode two hold?), how the Bibury Animation Studios team handles the first big set piece, and whether the OP/ED give the show a sonic identity beyond the source's existing fan signaling.
Slot it for the first three episodes. If the production's holding by week three, you've got a season-runner.
