Retro-anime streamer RetroCrush is adding a stack of classics across July and August 2026, including the notorious cyberpunk OVA Angel Cop, the Lone Wolf and Cub films and series, and the seminal Bubblegum Crisis. It's a good month if your taste runs older than the current-season churn.
What's being added
Already live are the 1981 Urusei Yatsura series, Looking for the Full Moon, and Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space. The dated rollout continues:
- July 10 — RoboGeisha, Electric Dragon 80,000 V
- July 17 — Angel Cop (original Japanese, HD re-release)
- July 31 — Lone Wolf and Cub: The Movie, Assassin on the Road to Hell
- August 7 — Lone Wolf and Cub (TV series)
- August 14 — Bubblegum Crisis (English dubbed)
RetroCrush also recently added Hyakushō Kizoku and the philosophical short 500000000 Years Button.
Why it's worth a look
RetroCrush is a free, ad-supported service built specifically around pre-2000s anime, which makes it one of the few legal homes for titles that never made it to the big subscription platforms. Angel Cop and Bubblegum Crisis in particular are cyberpunk touchstones that shaped the genre's look decades before it went mainstream. If you're chasing the classics, our guides to where to watch Ghost in the Shell and Golden Kamuy cover more of the same era.
