Monster Eater April 3, 2026. Imagica Infos, ongoing run, action. The short version: this is one of the few spring entries where the trailer made me want to reread the source.
The hook
Nobody wants "Grubby Forager" Rudd on their adventuring team. His nickname—and his stench—come from his constant treks into the Noxious Labyrinth to gather medicinal herbs, a job he survives only thanks to his status immunity skill. When he's finally recruited as a party porter, things seem to be looking up... Until a deadly dungeon monster appears and his fake allies use him as bait before abandoning him! Wounded, destitute, and barely surviving the attack, Rudd breaks a forbidden taboo to stay alive: eating monsters. It's the kind of premise that sounds tidy in two sentences and gets weirder on screen — in a good way. Stick around past the cold open.
Studio side
Production sits at Imagica Infos; DAX Production, Dai Nippon Printing, MAGNET handle the committee. The studio's track record on adjacent material is the reason fans of the source went from cautious to optimistic the moment the staff list dropped.
Calendar slot
Fridays at 01:00 (JST). Ongoing run, episode count TBC. Same-day simulcast windows are on the usual Western streamers — check your local Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, or Hulu listing for the timed slot.
The case for it
1,851 viewers have it at 4.01. Read between the lines: that's not a niche audience, that's broad pickup with steady reception. Worth the time. The season has louder names; this is the one you'll be quoting in August.
