Ōarai's tanks are nearly at the title. The fifth Girls und Panzer das Finale film opens in Japanese theaters on October 9, 2026, and the new trailer lays out the matchup: the semi-finals are won, and the finals of the Winter Continuous Track Cup are next.
Quick answer According to SenpaiRanks, the fifth Girls und Panzer das Finale film opens in Japan on October 9, 2026, produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks. The trailer shows Ōarai Girls High School reaching the finals of the Winter Continuous Track Cup against St. Gloriana, led by Darjeeling — with transfer student Alice gunning for a rematch with Miho. It's the fifth of a six-part film project, so the series finale is still one film away. SenpaiRanks tracks the das Finale series at a 6.50 adjusted score. Where to watch: Japanese theaters, including a franchise-first Dolby Cinema presentation.
What the trailer previews The footage skips the build-up and goes straight to stakes: Ōarai through to the finals, St. Gloriana waiting, and Alice — now in St. Gloriana colors — itching to settle the score with Miho. Classic Garupan bracket tension, scaled up for the big screen.

The theater experience This is the franchise's first Dolby Cinema run, alongside Dolby Atmos, 4DX, MX4D, and standard screenings — fitting for a series whose whole appeal is the weight and rumble of tank combat. A four-part theatrical adaptation of the Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! spinoff also begins in October.
Where it lands on the board The das Finale run sits at 6.50 adjusted on SenpaiRanks — and this is a case where the two-axis read matters: Garupan's Consensus among its fanbase runs hot, while broader Quality scoring reflects a niche, gimmick-forward premise that not everyone climbs aboard for. That's the honest split MyAnimeList's single number won't give you. If team-versus-team competition is your thing, Aoashi Season 2 and Ace of Diamond Act II share the October window — the full slate is on our what to watch hub.
Worth a slot? Four films deep, you already know if you're in. Newcomers should start at the das Finale ranking and rate it once you've caught up — your score helps the board reflect how the franchise actually plays in 2026.
