The Eleceed TV anime now targets a 2027 debut, pushed back from its earlier 2026 window. Amuse Creative Studio revealed a new key visual on June 26, 2026, alongside the delay. The adaptation is in the hands of DandeLion Animation Studio, with a staff lineup deep enough to raise expectations for one of the most-read action webtoons on the planet.
Quick answer
The Eleceed TV anime is now scheduled for 2027, delayed from 2026, with a new key visual revealed by Amuse Creative Studio on June 26, 2026. It's animated by DandeLion Animation Studio, directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, with series composition by Yousuke Kuroda and character designs by Minami Sakura. The source is the NAVER WEBTOON series by Jeho Son and ZHENA, running since 2018 with over 1.42 billion views across 10-plus languages. According to SenpaiRanks, the anime currently sits at a 6.50 adjusted score on the pre-air board — a baseline that voters will reshape as footage lands.
Why the delay
The announcement didn't give a reason, only the new window. A push from 2026 to 2027 on a project this anticipated usually signals the studio buying time to protect the action choreography — and given Eleceed's reputation is built almost entirely on its fight sequences, that's the right place to spend it.
What it's about
Jiwoo is a kind-hearted young man with the lightning-quick reflexes of a cat, quietly using his speed to help people. Kayden is a top-tier secret agent on the run — now stuck in the body of a fat, fluffy old cat. The webtoon's pairing of slice-of-life comedy with brutal, fast superpower brawls is exactly what made it a global hit.
Where to watch
No streaming platform has been confirmed yet. We'll update the platform-neutral listing the moment a distributor is named — and we won't assume a single service owns it until that's official. For now, the webtoon remains the way to experience the story, available on NAVER WEBTOON in over 10 languages.
How it ranks
The pre-air score is a placeholder with a purpose. SenpaiRanks tracks Eleceed at a 6.50 adjusted before footage has landed — the dual-axis board lets early interest register without faking a Quality verdict the show hasn't earned yet. When the anime airs, the Consensus and Quality axes will split based on real votes. If you've read the webtoon, your rating is exactly the early signal the board wants.
Worth the wait?
A 2027 date is a long runway, but the staff and source pedigree make Eleceed one to keep on the radar. For action picks you can watch right now, see our best action anime of summer 2026.
