Anime News Network's full-series review of BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA gave the summer 2026 entry a B. That's a fair answer to "is it good?": it's the franchise's most experimental TV season since It's MyGO!!!!!, and it doesn't stick every landing. Here's where to watch it, how it fits the BanG Dream! watch order, and how it compares on our board.
Quick answer
BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA is a 13-episode TV anime by studio NICHICALINE, directed by Tomomi Umezu, that premiered July 2, 2026 with three episodes and finished in September. Crunchyroll streams it in North America, Latin America, Europe, Oceania and other regions. It follows Mugendai Mewtype, a new virtual girl band, and is an original entry in Bushiroad's multimedia franchise rather than an adaptation. SenpaiRanks tracks it at 6.60, below It's MyGO!!!!! (7.22) and Ave Mujica (7.18).
What it's about
Arale Nakamichi gets canceled online and lands in a virtual band with Nonoka, Miyako and Yuno. The season is about what fame does to people who perform behind avatars: comment sections, image control, and a manipulative figure named Viola who gives the franchise something it rarely has, an actual villain.
BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA — NICHICALINE
Is it good?
Mostly. Per reviewer Christopher Farris, the wins are the new ideas, the lively animation, and a sharp look at cancel culture and controlling relationships. The misses are tonal whiplash between gag comedy and heavy drama, surprisingly few full songs for a music anime, and an ending that runs out rather than resolves, with Viola's arc left half-finished. Our read: if MyGO and Ave Mujica hooked you on the darker turn, watch it. If you came to BanG Dream! for concerts, start elsewhere.
