BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora opened in Japanese theaters on Friday, October 16. The same day, the franchise's YouTube channel posted a second promo built around Ave Mujica's song "A Song of Romance," per Anime News Network. If you haven't seen the TV run yet, here's where to stream it and the order to watch it in.
Quick answer
BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora is a theatrical film that continues the Ave Mujica TV anime (January 2025). It opened in Japan on October 16, 2026. There's no international release date yet. The TV series streamed on Crunchyroll, and so did It's MyGO!!!!! (2023), so that's where to catch up. According to SenpaiRanks, It's MyGO!!!!! scores 7.22 and Ave Mujica 7.18 on our board. The film's own score opens once votes come in. Next up is a combined MyGO!!!!! / Ave Mujica TV sequel in January 2027 on NTV and 29 affiliates.
What you're walking into
Ave Mujica is the masked gothic band that grew out of It's MyGO!!!!!. Both shows swapped BanG Dream!'s usual live-show optimism for broken friendships and a lot of tense, quiet scenes. prima aurora picks up that thread on the big screen. The promo playing after screenings is for the January sequel, so the film works as a bridge, not an ending.
Watch order
You don't need the original Poppin'Party seasons for this story. Start here:
- BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! (2023, TV) — 7.22
- BanG Dream! Ave Mujica (2025, TV) — 7.18
- BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora (October 2026, film)
- BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! / Ave Mujica sequel (January 2027, TV)
The two 2024 MyGO!!!!! compilation films recap the TV season, so they're optional.
Where it sits
MyGO and Ave Mujica are less than a tenth of a point apart on our board. That's unusual for a spin-off, and it shows the darker turn held up instead of fading. What to watch for next
The two questions are an overseas date for the film and the exact January premiere for the sequel. We're tracking the sequel in our winter 2027 anime guide. Rate the seasons you've seen on the cards above. Your vote moves the rankings.
